Hello everyone i am new to the RV world and have learned alot so far.
Here is what i'm working with, i have a 2006 392 Salem TT.
The question i have is its a big trailer and it only has one A/C unit on it. It does ok at night when the sun goes down but during the day it struggles. Does anyone know if you can add a second unit? Any input would be great.
to add another A/C unit you would need to cut a hole in your roof and find a place to get electric to it - if you have a 30 amp service on the side of your camper you would most likely have to upgrade to 50 amp service cause the two A/C units would draw almost 25 to 30 amps without anything else running.
Does it feel like it is blowing cold or is it warm when the sun is out - could be low on Freon and freezing up

As a 2006 it is almost 6 seasons old so it sounds like it needs service or replacement to me as well.
Maybe now is the time to upgrade (replace it) with a 15K unit. You would not need upgraded electrical service and it will eliminate the need for a second unit completely.

As a 2006 it is almost 6 seasons old so it sounds like it needs service or replacement to me as well.
Maybe now is the time to upgrade (replace it) with a 15K unit. You would not need upgraded electrical service and it will eliminate the need for a second unit completely.
I like your idea Lou about replacing it with a 15K unit instead of cutting a hole in the roof which could possibly bring another place for a leak.
I know the 13K draws around 13 to 15 amps - how much more does a 15K draw?

It has 50 amps running to the pole but not sure if the trailer has been upgraded.
It blows cold all the time. It does trip the breaker if you turn it down to low when it's hott outside. I may have breaker problems.

Nothing bigger than a 15,000 btu unit; but it should fit the exact spot just the same as the 13,500 unit. Not a lot bigger, but a new unit should be a bit more efficient. Wiring should be an exact swap, also. Randy
if ur looking at replacing, why not look into a heat pump? same output in summer with the added feature of at least twice the heat output of a heat strip...(they come with that too in the non ducted model...needed (to keep u warm) in the defrost cycle and when outside temp drops below 40 deg.
when i bought mine, they were not that much more than a non heat pump (abt $100 from that dealer or actually cheaper than other dealers reg a/c).
