AC Problems Help!

Can I get some feedback on what could be the problem here.

I have a 2013 Georgetown Class A 351DS

Symptoms:

The bedroom AC will not come on when I click on any of the settings.
the light on the thermostat is lit and the fuse is not tripped. I can't get anything on it to work.

The front AC gets cold when needed, but the fan stays on in every mode. It wont shut off. When the furnace turns on the upper fan come on. Is that normal? When I turn it to heat strip there is a horrible burnt electric smell with a little smoke.

This RV is only 1 month old. The dealer is telling me there is 6 weeks wait to get it in for service.

Can I please get some feedback as to possible problems. I have a 50 amp cord and it is plugged into a 30 amp service. No other appliances are running though.

Thanks

At your front thermostat select fan. There are 3 options for the fan; high/low/auto. Select auto and that should correct your fan issue. The heat strip, when first used will have an oder (just like at home) but smoke is another issue. There is a circuit breaker (CB) for each AC and perhaps the bedroom AC, CB needs to be reset. That would not explain why none of the other functions do not work though.

Is your RV 30 amp to 50 amp adapter home made or bought in store?

Are you trying to run both ACs at the same time? If so, I am guessing your power center shut off AC 2. Many of them will do that when plugged into 30 amp, I know mine will).

As far as smoke with the heat strip, you should check to see if the install monkey left the glue and/or paper tag attached. I know on our old trailer, we ran into that problem and had a little smoke. I took the thing apart (the air handler had to come off) to find a charred label and burned label glue...

I figured out the problem. I purchased a 30 amp to 50 amp converter that had an additional 20 amp plug on the 30 amp side. I thought it was so you could choose either the 20 amp or 30 amp. It turns out that it is meant to plug in both the 20 amp and the 30 amp at the same time to get the full 50 amp. When I plugged in only the 30 amp it only powered half of the fuse box I guess.
Anyway, it is all working properly now. The problem with the fan running all of the time was due to the answer above that taught me that there are three settings for the fan that you need to toggle through on the thermostat. I hadn't noticed.

Thanks for that.
