Something to try
While waiting.
Maybe the AC is calling for cold (trying to start) and the breaker is weak or the compressor is vapor locked.
Try removing all AC power from the rig (remove shore power) and then see if the breaker will set. (If not. Bad breaker)
Then turn the AC OFF at the thermostat.
Turn on Shore Power. (see if breaker stays set - It should)
Turn on AC. See if AC starts after a few seconds or blows breaker.
Could be startup load is tripping breaker.
I saved Milzat's link to a word document. That advice is going in my camper's Dash One! (Technical Manual)

Yup, bad breaker. Hoping against hope, I tried your 'while waiting' procedure herk7769.
Bad breaker. It was worth a try. Thanks much.

FYI........We have 5 parking booths and they have the low profile style Dometic Duo-Therm units and they are 13,500 BTUs. The pic that I just posted shows what had happen to the capacitors after a thunder storm. The first pic is the one that is damaged and the second one is it's replacement. This type of damage does not all ways happen but it is common for Domestic and Coleman units and they do not handle a voltage drop very well which can occur in campgrounds during high demands, the Carrier units are more forgiving.

Holy Cow!
Is that a standard replacement assembly?
Who did you buy it from and how much did it cost?
Sounds like a spare that should be "on the shelf" if voltage sags can cause that.

This RV learning curve is getting to be a bit much. Seems like I spend lots of time fixing and I've yet to spend one night in it.

Gotta laugh! Mike gave me this link for finding a service place/guy for my broken breaker. I admit I have been pretty frustrated with all the things that have gone wrong in this RV and I have yet to leave the driveway.
But this made me smile and decide to keep trying
Dometic Authorized Service Center Locator - Dealer/Service Centers by City
The first call had no one answering on the other end. Now admittedly this is Monday and in this heat, folks are not inclined to show up at work.
The second call was a voice mail for a warehouse.
The third one was Comfort Care Senior Services. That sounded pretty good. I almost made an appointment.
In our post Katrina world, nothing is as it used to be and it looks like trailer repair has left the building.
I called my regular electrician. He is coming tomorrow morning. He thinks he can fix it.

Have you tried moving the breaker all of the way to the off position, and then moving it to the on position?? Most breakers require that to be done in order to reset it. If it is not done that way, it will feel "mushy".

MORE:
I just came in from a quick trip to the TT. I glanced down at the now open control panel door. TWO breakers are now tripped. The second one is a 15A and labeled Genera.
I have the shore power connected, but nothing is turned on. I have no generator if that what that label means.
What on earth can be happening?

Just thought I would check......sometimes it is the simple things. Sounds like the breaker is shot, so your electrician should fix you right up.

Your electrician should be a big help here
He should have the meters to track down your problem.
I guess it is possible the strike took out your power distribution panel.
Not likely, but possiible.
The "Genera" labeled breaker could be a pre-wired circuit to a place in your rig where a generator could be installed. Maybe it was tripped before (ie OFF) and you never noticed it before. With all the hair pulling and running around wildly insane, you are looking for stuff.
ANYTHING to get it all fixed.
Relax and let "Sparky" fix your problem.

I had my eyes on that panel too much. Breaker number two (Genera) was intact before the power brownout during our daily PM thunderstorm today. Breaker number one (AC) went to see Jesus during Saturday's thunderstorm and brownout. They turn our 97º heat into steam, so you can imagine how much we love them.
Our electrician is a good friend. I hope he stays that way. I suspect he will after his check clears the bank.
Jan, who has given up any sort of hairdo, but then again, never did care all that much.

Electrician just left. He walked in the RV, clicked the breakers and they stayed clicked. He took things apart and told me everything appeared fine. Good thing we are friends, so I was not too embarrassed. I did reset them about 50 times to no avail. I think he believed me. $150.00 worth of 'diagnostics.' I would be upset except I was in a service business for almost 20 years and ya gotta charge for your time.
Oh well.
