Adjustable awning drifting down
We have the one had adjustable like the picture below. It was my understanding that you should be able to put it at any height and have it stay.
One side constantly goes down....it will either go down quickly, or slowly drift down. The only way to get it to stay is to push the pivot point all the way up past the point of straight and level.
Forest River replaced the gas strut, but the problem persist. Any ideas?

Tighten the nut on it SLIGHTLY.....I had my motor go bad, but it wasn't DEAD yet....it would just fault out on me. My process of elimination to pin point that it was indeed the motor, I used dry lube on some of the joints, thinking that MAYBE they were too tight and putting too much pressure on the motor on its way in. Now that I've done that, and replaced the motor, mine were almost always doing what you described. I tightened them just a tad and they're better. Every once in a while, it gets stubborn and wants to fall down, so I probably need to tighten it just a little more.

I do not have an electric awning, so there is no motor....but I digress. I have tried tightening the only nut that would seem to have any effect on this problem, and it didn't change anything.
They are simple awnings, but I am at a loss as to why it doesn't function right.

Adjustable awning drifting down
What brand / model number?
The one you pictured appears to be an electric model.

If you have a manual awning, are you getting the pin securely in the hole?

It is a grey wolf 26bh....I am not sure of the awning brand and model...but I believe it is an awning made by Forest River.
It is exactly like the one picture, but is not electric.

It is not a power awning?
How do you open it?
I've never seen one like in your photo that wasn't electric.

No, it is not a power awning. It looks exactly like the power awning that comes on the grey wolf though.
You open it by flipping a silver latch in the top corner, then pulling the rope out. Then you adjust it with the arms. I will try and get some pictures of it. But there is a pivot point in the middle of the skinny bar that is under the gas strut.

I'll be interested in what the 'rope" does on the OP's.

Could the issue be one of the gas arms going bad?

As previously mentioned tighten the nut that attaches the two movable arms that you push up or down to adjust the awning when open. Mine wanted to raise up on one side. Tightening worked.
