Did it ever work ?
Not sure where you are but let's assume somewhere in the US - you should first try out in an urban area with strong signals - you may have to push the amplifier button - on the wall plate next to the jack - a light will glow when on.
Your TV also has to have a digital tuner to get anything or a converter box if your set is old.
Set your TV to AIR (not CATV) and try to auto program channels - you 'should get at least a few channels.
Good luck.
Denis
PS. If you're in Canada - analog it still available until 2011. NO converter needed or digital tuner, digital broadcasts are available but analog is still around.

We were getting 6 digital channels in our driveway. Two weather, two Spanish & two barely watchable local channels. (Northeastern PA)
We only received two analog channels before the conversion.
In my local RV dealer I saw a new device, Wingman® RV-WING UHF Add-On for $23.
It promises to double your channels. I was skeptical but decided to pick one up.
It took 30 seconds to install on my existing antenna.
Holy cow! We’re getting 20 stations in my driveway with the antenna down.

3 Happy Campers, are you using a DTV converter in addition to the Wingman?

Negative - straight to the factory 32" Konka digital LCD TV that came with the Sierra & the 19" Sony digital LCD TV we bought for the bedroom.
I have to say even though we have all these channels there's still nothing on worth watching!

Another dumb question. When you describe the 2 TVs as "digital" does that mean they're DTV compatible?
This whole DTV changeover thing is greek to us Canadians. Besides I've had satellite TV for several years now.

Correct, any TV that has a ATSC tuner can received digital over the air TV or DTV. Not all DTVs are HDTVs but today (in the US) you really have to get a very bottom of the line TV to not get HDTV.

Thanks I'll check the specs for my TV (purchased Jan' of this year). If it has an ATSC tuner then I won't need the DTV converter, right?

New 2011 Surveyor with "digital" antenna
I've noticed both at home and on the road that you need to be located near the transmitter towers to get decent reception in this new "digital" TV age. In the "old days" I could receive TV from transmitters located 100 or more miles away. Now it seems that 20 or 30 miles is the limit.

Well I checked my TV (Dynex DX-L19-10C) tonight & it's NTSC. Box says it has 1 HDMI input. So I guess I'll have to get a DTV converter if I want to watch over the air broadcasts.

I just found this site. It may help folks determine what stations are available @ the camping location.

If you have a newer tv(within the past 2 years), then it is likely digital ready, meaning you should not have to have one of those $50 converter boxes to plug it into to receive signals. Here in the US, they forced digital on everyone, stopping analog signals about a year or so ago. I'm too cheap to buy new tv's until the ones I have quit working but my local cable system converts the signal before it gets to me. Otherwise I would need a converter box.
The trailer batwing antennas are glorified rabbit ears. If you have an old analog tv, you will have to have a digital converter. Otherwise you get no signal. I have one and tested it in the trailer and got many more over the air channels than before the change. Most of our local channels have 3 or more digital channels you watch, (such as 10-1, 10-2, 10-3) and they have different content on each.

Won't work on your TV. Converters only have RCA plug outputs. Red, Yellow, White pulgs.

For USA only you can use www.antennaweb.org
TV Fool is a great site for camping in Canada however and I will be saving it.
Remember that DTV UHF and VHF are DIRECTIONAL. The white plastic "amp head" on your roof antenna MUST POINT TO the station's antenna.
The "wings" of the antenna will be sideways to the beam. With the Wingman, the elements make an "arrowhead" that must point to the station.

Not Greek to this Canadian but I live on the Border of Michigan USA also a green light is on My ant.amp. next to where the ant.wire come from wall to TV and 2011 You will have Dig.TV in Canada so get ready it is better in most ways any TV that says HD is ready also meaning they rec.High Deff.programs On cable or Sat. You do not need a converter just free to air as in antenna or a older TV watch when buying a new TV the old ones are being sold cheeper buyer beware some flat screens are not High Deff. but are flat panels lol...again do not get taken by a slick sales person..
