Question Any uses for Used Motor Oil??

Just changed the oil in my vehicles and before I recycle the oil I wanted to know if I should keep some. Can it be used for starting fires? What other uses can it be used for?

One word here; RECYCLE! I know of some used car lots that wipe it on their car tires, to keep them shiny looking. Otherwise, it's really not environmentally friendly to pour it on the ground, and to start fires, the smoke it puts out would be horrific! Randy

I take ours to the car dealer, he has a waste oil burner to heat the shop area.

I mix it with diesel to start brush and weed fires. It hardly smokes at all this way and generates lots of heat to start these types of thing on fire.

I usually mix it 2 or 3 parts oil to 1 part diesel.

I drop mine off at Auto Zone. They have an oil recycle barrel that you can pour it into.
