Battery re-locate

Hi all, new member here.

I wanted to relocate my gel cell battery to the storage are of my Wildwood (because the previous one got stolen), however, the storage compartment is under the bed and wasn't sure if there is any hazardous fumes that come from the battery... I was going to place a disconnect switch on the outside tongue area where the battery sits now.

If is isn't safe, any other ideas of how to get the battery off the tongue area, without having to remove it in between trips?

I'm not sure, but does a gel battery require venting? I know some drag racers who put an Optima in the trunk, with no venting, and it's legal on the track. Not saying safe for your camper. Might check the battery maker website and see if venting is required..
