Bed Screws Broke

2014 Rockwood 2502s with about 12 nights total in it. My wife and I were awoken to our heads dropping about 1-2 inches. In daylight, I saw from the pass through under the bed, that several of the screws had either sheared or pulled out of the front wall of the trailer.

We're still under warranty, but I'm torn between having it repaired, or modifying it myself, with extra bracing.

Thoughts, suggestions, advice all greatly appreciated.

you should be able to get warranty , but weather you want to wait 3 months is another story . fix it your self then you know it will be done right , instead of some hack just butching it and adding a ton of screws . warranty seems only good for major stuff and then you be with out your unit for awhile. that being said the 2nd yr warranty from forest river doesn't cover much

You should fix it yourself. Don't rely on your dealer to do it properly. I had the same thing happen under warranty and they thought that it would be a good idea to staple it back together. I wasn't too impressed.

I'll see if I can come up with a plan. I'm thinking angle iron riveted to the aluminum bed supports with 2x2 jack studs down to a plate on the floor.

In regards to your BED I would fix it Myself like the other member did his bed! Unless you have knowledge of your Dealers Woodworking/Structural ability! Youroo!!

I have had two new toyhaulers and bought the second year warranty for both of them. The warranties cover everything. This winter I had mine in for warranty work, they replaced some siding, replaced an axle, modified the frame camber, replaced a panel in the fridge and fixed a sticking screen door. Very pleasant service department, no hesitation, excuses or questions. If you buy a new camper don't be without the second year factory warranty, it's the best $150 you can spend. My thanks to everyone on this forum that made me aware of this warranty.

I never said I had 2nd year warranty, because I don't. That must be where the confusion came from. I feared the bed issue was bigger than I thought from your comment.

Is this a murphy bed? If so, another reason for me personally to shy away from the murphy bed models.
Anyway, hope you get it fixed & that all goes well afterwards.
Enjoy

My pop up LCD TV mount fell of the wall after bringing it home day 1. I glued the wood to the wall and screwed it too. Worked for me.

Thanks!

Headed out Thursday for our "first" outing. We have spent several nights in it, and did tow it a few miles for a weekend, but this will be 150 miles from home for 3 nights. Hope we have everything we need!
