Briggs= extremely loud.
If looking for a good quality gen that is quiet, check out the Subaru/ robin. I have a under $500 generator (5kw) with a Subaru and couldn't be more pleased. It is actually even quieter than a comparable Honda (9hp) and at about 1/3 the cost.
Not sure how long the generator will last, but it has served hurricane duty for 5 years now, once for 16 no power days and I have had no issues. I have no doubt the engine will last a very long time.

Hmmm, seems like a nice little alternative inverter generator to the Yamahas and Hondas. If only it is as quiet. I can't seem to find the decimal levels, but I got this from the website:

Up to 38% quieter than a traditional camping generator, perfect for a crowded campsite.

i don't trust an generator that doesn't show its noise level rating.
i searched and couldn't find a db rating, which is a red flag.

you can find other Chinese-made inverter generators, with more power, for the same price.
and don't think this one is American-made, cause it has the B&S brand name, it's made in China also.

that is what scares me. can't find noise level. I don't want to be "that guy" in the campground. Is there an American made one?

there is no American-made inverter generator that i've ever found.
they are either made in Japan, Korea or China.

what are you wanting to run with the generator?

I found this while doing research on the Briggs and Stratton. Still didn't find the decimal level, but the video explains the differences between conventional and inverter generators.

Not a bad price. Can't tell you about the db rating but can tell you that it won't start or run your A/C. It will run just about everything else tho, just not all at once. You might be interested in checking out Boliy inverter/generators

not that i know of. there is a member, RVtechguy, but i don't think he works for FR.

remember, this site is not a FR owned or run site. there's a NW FR rep that's here and Concertone's Bob Fields. that's the only members here i'm aware of that have any connection with FR.

why do you ask?
