Thumbs down Bunk Fan/Light Combination = poor connector

I have a hybrid and enjoy the fan/light combos in the bunk ends.

It connects to 12V with - what looks like - a 1/4" microphone jack, very easy to use.

Problem is the connection does not work very well, a slight turn and it stop working all together.

Anyone else with the same issue - and possible solution?
