Camping crisis need help no 12V

Folks, don't over complicate this...

Shore power is good.
Converters supply 12 with or without a battery, so no need to check the battery. The "going dim" means they were running on battery until it died. The converter isn't doing its job.

Check the a/c breaker for the converter -- it may have tripped
Check the main converter fuses (less like unless there was a short somewhere).
Make sure the converter is plugged in to the a/c receptacle
The converter might be dead

For future reference. The 12V DC items in your RV are protected by fuses. The 110VAC items in your RV are protected by circuit breakers. For the most part they are not related. If a 110V item is not working check breakers. If a 12V item is not working check fuses. Note that all 12V fuses do not have LEDs in them to indicate failure. If you replace the fuse and want the LED feature, you need to check the package. The fuses in most automotive stores do not have LEDS.

As I reread in post #12, that you did disconnect your battery last night, you may have blew the reverse polarity fuse(s) if you didn't reconnect it correct.

This does happen a lot, since many RV's have battery wires color coded like a house. If you have a black and white battery cable, the white is usually to the negative, and the black is to the positive.

I know, it runs counterintuitive to people who are used to a red and black vehicle battery...which the black is negative.

We may need to make sure the battery cables are correct first, or you will keep blowing the reverse polarity fuse(s) to the converter.

Then, once the reverse polarity fuses are replaced, we can see if the converter functions properly. If not, then we may still have a separate problem.

Flybob,
You need to edit your post to include the word 'not.'
It's a little confusing the way you wrote it.

If you need to get awning and slides in you will need to charge battery or quick fix jumper cables to battery then to tv battery close slides and awning then on to dealer if you are unable to fix at camp site.

Thanks for all the assistance it’s nice to know that everyone is willing to pitch in and lend a hand. Also hats off to Prime Time who sent a FAST reply via email. Was able to move the RV to a new location without issues & learned a few things from this experience.
