Can't get water heater to work on either electric or propane

This is our first trip with our new Sunseeker 2860 motorhome. All that comes out of our hot water faucets is cold water. There is plenty of water flowage from faucets. It doesn't matter if we have the electric or gas switch on (the propane tank is open). What are we doing wrong? Thanks. Silas

New Sunseeker.....first trip...lots of water, but no HOT water.

I’d guess the dealer still left the valves in the by-pass position for winter.

Do you know where they are?
Do you know how to do it?
Dealer nearby for them to fix and educate you?

Thanks for responding. I did turn one valve which I assumed was the bypass valve after we removed the antifreeze from water lines.

The problem now, is if there wasn't water actually in the heater when you turned on the electric heating element...then most likely the element is fried.

The propane should still work, but you if you have a Suburban water heater, you might have possibly tripped the ECO/Hi-limit thermostat from dry firing it on propane. You may has to push in the reset buttons....AFTER you have verified there is water inside the tank itself. You can verify by flipping up the Temp and Pressure Relief valve on the water heater tank to make sure water comes out (that let's you know there is water in the tank)

And be aware there are a number of ways the manufacturers have come up with to bypass the water heater. You may have 3 valves to turn, or 2 valves or just one.
See page 2 of the attached. Option #1 is the most common.

Well, the water is now hot. I didn't have the valves in their proper position, like you suspected. Also two valves were incredibly hard to turn.
