Can't lower bed

We just purchased a like new 2009 Rockwood Mini Lite 1809S
We lifted the bed platform up to inspect the storage area and are unable to lower the platform. How do you get the Gas Spring Lift Props to close?
We have tried everything except calling the dealer because they are closed for the holiday.

If there's no mechanical latch, it should just push down.

The Fire Instructor's got it. Just push it down. The gas supports are kind of strong and tight.

They're made to hold up the weight of the bed platform and mattress so, there will be quite a bit of resistance to push it back down. After about half way down, it should fall the rest of the way by itself.
Usually, when one of the gas props goes bad, it won't hold up any weight so, unless something went wrong inside the prop and jammed the piston, then it should just close with a little bit of force.
