Carbon/LP alarm system

The LP alarm frequently goes off, only at night, and will not reset when pushing the reset button. We only run the water heater off of the LP. But it is being run both day and night, and the alarm will only go off at night. The red light will just go from solid to blinking after resetting it. Then will go off again a few minutes later. I see where these can give you a false reading occasionally, and are shown as needing replaced every 5 years. I am thinking that the alarm is just needing replaced since it won't reset. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yes, but only on Friday night thru Sunday afternoon. Sorry, I should have explained that better than I did. The battery is fully charged, and everything else that is 12V, lights, ETC, operate just fine. Even if the battery was low, wouldn't the alarm still reset? It actually did this a couple times last summer, but more frequently these last few weekends.
