Concertone ZX500 is dead

We have a 2006 Cedar Creek with the dreaded ZX500 that no longer works. In-line fuse is good. Anyone know how to get a replacement without having to take the rig to a dealer for service?

If I were you, I'd pull out the Concertcrap and buy a nice automotive type,
DVD player, AM, FM Radio like a JVC unit, model #: KD-DV5400.
Then I'd get a nice LCD TV to go with it.
TVs will be on $ale big time this season, especially on "Black Friday".

The JVC has rear jacks for hooking up your stuff as well as a front MP3 jack.
It is not 5 channel surround sound but in a "room" the size of our trailers you will
not notice. It does have 4 stereo outputs and installing a speaker switch to control
the outside speakers would be easy enough for most folks.
It does have a remote and rear video output for connecting to your TV.
When/if mine dies I will be going this route.
Just my 2¢
Good luck!

We have a ZX500, so far so good, but I've thought about an automotive replacment. But here are the issues that have stopped me from pursuing a change at this time.
1) The ZX has 3 different "zones" for speakers (3 sets of 2); front of trailer, rear of trailer, and outside; each of which can be separately turned on or off.
2) Speaker impedence. Depending on the amp and speakers, isn't it possible to damage the amp with the wrong combination? Especially if you are trying to run 6 speakers?

Anybody have ideas/solutions? I'm afraid I'm not much of an expert on radio/speaker electronics.

To close the loop. Took the unit out of the rig and took it to the dealer. 2 weeks later I received a new replacement unit and was told to drill some ventilation holes in the cubby where the unit is installed.

We just ordered this guy.

Our ZX500 still works but it doesn't sound very good. We're making the switch now.

Darn, wish I'd seen your link before I ordered mine. Paid $299 and no shipping. Oh well. I'll definitely post my experience with the new unit and install. I'm replacing the interior speakers too. Don't expect to hear from me for a couple of months though. It's still too darn cold here in MN to do the install now.
