converter/battery problems

I have a 37' sierra toy hauler. My battery will not charge. I think it might be the converter. 1. How do you check it, the converter? 2. I have checked the fuses, unless there is a inline fuse some where else. If so, where? 3. if it needs to be replace where do I see what make and model it is?

Do you have 12v lights that work when you are plugged into shore power??

no the 12 v lights will not work. The only time they work is if the battery is not dead. The battery seems not to last very long either. I hooked up a portable battery charger to keep it up.

If the lights will work on battery then the main fuse/breaker isn't the problem. If the battery is draining while the RV is hooked to shore power it most likely the converter that's the problem. Since you've checked all the fuses in the converter it'll most likely need replacing. If it's not under warranty here's a good place to start Best Converter they' have all types and are glad to provide assistance any way they can.
