Day/Night shades

Don't know where to stick this topic, but here goes:
How well do day/night shades stand up to sun? So far I have been putting cardboard in my windows when in storage to keep the sun out.
My old trailer had metal venitian blinds which weren't a problem as far as sun went. Wayne

We live in the Mojave Desert, and use the insulated aluminized mylar "bubble paper between the shades and the window. Keeps the MoHo a bit cooler and protects the shades.

The strings are my biggest worry.

The standard window tinting on our Wildcats definitely helps make shades last longer too...

The strings can break. If they do, go buy some string from Michaels and sit on the floor with a bottle of wine. By the time you have finished the second bottle you will have restrung your blind as good as new
