Dead Bolt Key

Can anyone help me in finding a replacement deadbolt key?
I bought a used Cherokee 27Q and was only given the latch key.

You would probably have to see a locksmith or just buy another deadbolt. If it is a separate deadbolt from the latch then buy the same brand you have on your house. If you buy it at Home Depot or Lowes I believe you can take your house key with you and they will re-key the deadbolt to your key. That way your house key would also fit your trailer.

Order the entire assembly from FR, not too expensive, and about 15 minutes to install. Been there, done that, when a tumbler jammed in our original unit on the 3rd trip out.

This assumes the latch, doorknob and deadbolt are the all in one style from the factory, which in our case the same key fits latch and deadbolt.

Radio has the right idea and the easyest way to do it. The lock and dead bolt on your camper has what is called a "disc" tumbler cylinder, if you look in the key way you can see the first disc it is brass and flate. The type of lock and dead bolt on your house has what is call a "pin" tumbler cylinder, if you look in the key way you can see the first pin and you can see that it is round. Pin tumblers do not have brass pins, they are steel.
You will notice that your camper key has the same cuts on both sides of the blade, this called a "convenience key" no matter how you put the key in it will unlock the lock just like most car keys do, but with your house key it will only go in one way and the key blanks are different.
There should be a number printed on the key just under the bow, this number is needed to order a lock or a second key.

Now I am going to go a little farther with is, It's important for everyone to under stand, keep your locks clean and lubricated, if the key way on lock is dirty and you force the key into the lock you can bend the disc and damage the springs, the lock will jam and in some cases you will not be able to remove the key, this needs to be done on all types of locks that uses a key.

Are you kidding?
You have to use 2 different keys to open the same door??
Sheesh, how inconvenient

I think it's the pits that our front door takes
one key and the rear door takes another.

Anyway-- WELCOME to our forum!!
and Happy Camping!

Thanks everyone, yes as Radio said it is a single unit with latch and dead bolt key. But the key does not operate the dead bolt. I will contact FR.
