Directv set up in motorhome.

I just got Directv service at home and was given an Rv kit. The kit has a tripod, dish, cable and a window cable hook up. I know how to set up the dish and tripod but am lost from there. Where do I hook up the reciver and cables in the motorcoach and the dish. Thanks

It's pretty much the same as a home setup....you need to locate your receiver close to your TV where you can access AC power. I put mine in the upper cabinet on the rider's side next to the TV. Unless your motorhome is wired for satellite (satellite ready), you cannot use the "cable" system (CATV) that often has an external co-ax box on the side or in one of the hatches. The satellite cable goes from the LNB on the dish, through a window (via the flat ribbon adapter) and into your receiver. You connect the receiver to your TV via a co-ax cable, component cables (3) or an HDMI cable. I installed a short length of cable from the cabinet to the floor and hid it behind a piece of window trim to make it easier to connect my cable from the dish each time I set it up. Of course, now you have to aim the dish which is another story.....
