Discolouration on outside wall

Hi, we have a Sabre 31RETS, about 10 months old. I was washing it a couple of days ago and noticed a small area (1.5" circle) of light yellowy-brown discolouration on the white side wall ahead of the LP storage. There is no indication of any physical damage in the area.

Any ideas?

Sounds like delamination.
But let's hope it's a missed coffee stain.
Could you post a photo of it?

I'll try to get a photo later, I assume the cure involves major surgery?

Not sure how visible the discolouration is. Can small areas be repaired or is a major replacement needed?

Personally I would take some polishing compound and try rubbing it out. It really looks to me more like left overs from something stuck to the side. Like a dealers sticker.

I think you're right, it does look like some sort of "left overs". I'm hoping someone else will chime in for a 2nd opinion as I am not sure what sort of damage a rubbing compound would do to the finish.

I would almost think about talking to the local RV parts/service rep or even a boat supply store to see what they have to say about it and what they would use. The finish on these new RV's is identical to the finish on the new boats, so less likely that something would make it worse. Hang tight, I'm sure someone will have more to say about it.

I was at the parts store again today to look at their new stock and I totally forgot about this product I tried on my Roo. It's called Biokleen (http://www.biokleen.com/rv-cleaning). Not sure that all shops have them, but they do a great job on cleaning up things without damaging the surface. The tech told me last year that these cleaners were developed by a couple who are chemists and they were tired of paying for professional cleaners to clean the finish on their boat. So they came up with this line of products to solve the problems of harsh cleaners and chemicals. I tried it and couldn't belive how well it did. I'll boot up my work laptop and attach photos of the area I cleaned.

Sent from my Samsung Moment using Forest River app.

Ok, so long story short, when I bought this camper used, it was stored outside someplace in Iowa. The rear of the roof line looked like this:

After some discussion with the folks at the parts place, I tried the Black Streak Remover...

...and it came off really easy. After about an hour in the sun, the yellow color went away and even today, it looks bright white like the rest of the TT.

You could also try a product called Gel-Gloss. It is made to polish fiberglass without damaging it.

If it is some kind of residue from a sticker you might want to try Skin-So -Soft from Avon, this what i use and it comes off easy and will not hurt the finish sureface.

I've tried some of the cleaning products, but no luck. I'm not too concerned about the discoloration as it is very hard to see. What I am worried about is whether it will continue to grow and will it weaken the wall?

I may be off base here but it looks like it could be a glue stain...

If it is, it is probably cosmetic only, a boat shop or body shop could tell you if they could buff it out...

good luck!
