DIY Generator Install

I'm new to this forum; I just found it. I'm going to tackle installing an generator. I have a 2010 XLR 29CKV. It has a gen compartment and auto transfer switch. I have purchased a new Generac QP40LP generator. Can anyone provide some hints or help to make the install smooth? Best place to get the LP? Where to run the wire? etc.

Sorry I can't help, but I think it is weird that the trailer would have the transfer switch and no generator. Check through the documentation that came with the trailer. Maybe you have a "generator prep package" that will explain the install. Good luck, and Merry Christmas.

It is odd. Auto transfer switch and a fuel cutoff switch that does nothing. Framework for the fuel tank and station, but neither is present which is why I decided to go with a propane generator.
