Dometic Awning Wind Sensor

While on vacation in August a storm came up with wind and heavy rain. The wind sensor closed the awning as designed. However after that storm I could not get the awning to open until I turned the wind sensor switch off. When I turn it back On the box starts beeping. I've read where water getting into the sensor can cause this. I've checked the housing and don't see how I can remove it to dry out the area around the sensor. I can't see into the sensor either. I'm assuming that between that storm, Hurricane Irene and the other big rains with wind we've had, that the cylinder has quite a bit of water in there. Has anyone found the way to gain access to the sensor??
