DOMETIC does not get cold.

We have a new 2012 Tracer 3150bhd. The inside fridge (large DOMETIC) does not get cold. We got the it will take 5 to 8 hours to chill speach when we talked about it during the PDI. The dealer turned on the LP to get it started as we drove back to our camp site. I found the temp control knocked out on Saturday night and put it back. When I checked the next day the freezer bottom was not cold so I removed the outside hatch and checked the “condenser?” and it was not warm, none of the black plumbing was warm at all. I pulled the pc board cover and the fuses looked good. I will bring a meter and check them next weekend as the trailer is in storage 40 minutes away.

We have a 1 year old sv-305 and I, too, felt the inside fridge didn't get cold enough (Dometic). The freezer section works great, but the fridge section barely gets into the 40's (like 43 or 44). I was told by the dealer that was normal...I am not happy with "Normal." Maybe there is an issue with these fridges? Maybe it really is "RV Normal." I don't know.

kwjeepxj; You said that you put the temp control back on - Where did you put it? All the way at the top - coldest setting, mid range or at the bottom. Some people beleve that the lovere the control the lower the temp, it's just the opposite.

I put the sensor at the top. This is our second trailer. We use the fan with 2 D batteries and it did get down to 38 on the old trailer. I kept a thermometer hanging in it.

My Dometic will drop to 32 degrees F (bottom) if the door is left shut for 12 hours. I use a small fan that attaches to the fridge fins to circulate the cold air. The fan also eliminates frost on the fins. Your dealer is sorely uninformed or just trying to blow you off.

I think I will bring that issue up (again) about my fridge while it's still under (extended) warranty. I do wonder why the freezer section works so well, but the fridge section doesn't?

When I check my fridge next week is there anything special I should look for? I will have a voltage meter with me. We have 2 more weekends of camping planed before we winterize it and set it up for warrenty work.

I finally got the trailer in for warranty work.

UPDATE: The inside fridge (large DOMETIC) has to be replaced and is currently on order.
