Dometic Return Air

I have a 2008 camper with a 13.5 dometic. I took the filter screen down to clean my filter and and even with the main vent closed to direct the air to my ceiling vents, I could feel cold air coming out the return air side. Upon further observation, there is a white foam/rubber membrane that acts like a gasket/plenum to separate the two sides. The material is supposed to be sealed to the sides of the metal framing, but a lot of cold air escapes to the return side. I'm thinking about using some double sided tape to reseal the material. I would love for that air to be ducted out somewhere other than into the return side.
