E1 code. install new thermostat

i have the E1 error code again and tried to reset it like i did here
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...-e1-14668.html

but it didt work. so i was going to install a new thermostat a honeywell RTH111B. so i went to take the factory one out and only 3 wires are connected. red, green, white.

there are 4 wires that are not used. yellow, blue, brown, and a bare wire.

so i went to the A/C unit to find where all the wires go and they are all cut but the 3 used on the factory thermostat.

so where do i go from here???

Got this from a manual on Carrier Thermostats:

Table 4 ó Thermostat Error Code Descriptions
ERROR CODE DESCRIPTION

E1
The system is not communicating properly. Call the local Carrier representative for service

E3

The temperature sensor has failed. Call the local Carrier representative for service

E4

There is an internal memory failure. Call the local Carrier representative for service

E5

The humidity sensor is not working. Call the local Carrier representative for service

I am thinking the wires are not hooked up right.

Another solution...
