Educate me about winterizing, please!

I live in central Florida, and though it does get below freezing a couple of times a year (maybe), it's usually not for long.

We have a 2013 Salem 30KQBSS travel trailer that is kept outside in a storage facility. We plan on doing most of our camping in October through March or April. Do we need to do anything to winterize our tt? We're pretty new to all of this, and certainly don't want to cause any damage to our new investment.

Thanks!

i live in Northern California and have never winterized our trailer, in the 6 years we've owned it.
if you don't go to colder areas to camp, don't see a need to.

it can freeze overnite, just as long as it warms up during the day.

you need continuous freezing temps, to justify needing to winterize.

If the temps are going to be below freezing while our unit is not in use, I open the low point drain plugs on the camper and drain all the water, drain the hot water tank by removing plug, then when all this is done, I pour about one cup of rv antifreeze in every drain and inside toilet flap...Done

Takes no time to do this and your ready to go camping right away when it's time, been doing this for years with no issues when we've had very cold days/nights.

Thanks for the info. Where in SE Georgia are you? I used to live in St. Marys many many years ago.

Winterizing

We live in central Florida as well. Don't worry about winterizing the TT. Unless we get multiple days of below freezing temps (it'll never happen here) it's not necessary to fuss...ahh!...the little joys of southern camping!! Now, about washing those 'love bugs" off all that fiberglass and aluminum...like I said, ahhh! the little joys of southern camping...

The lovebugs are TERRIBLE this season. Maybe the worst I've ever seen. I think it's because we didn't have a hard freeze last winter to kill them off.

Thanks for the other response as well. I didn't figure that there was anything we needed to do to winterize, but thought I should at least look into it. Besides, our camping season is just about ready to start. At least for us.
