Fuel station pump prime problems

I have a 19' Wolf Pack that has a atv fuel station. I have added 5 gallons of fuel and the pump operates along with all switches/timers. I can't get the gas pump primed to get fuel delivery through the nozzle. The gear pump is supposed to be self priming according to the info I have.

Does anyone know any tricks to get the system primed? Would appreciate any help.

I'm not sure if 5 gallons is enough to prime the system or not. I was hoping someone out there had done this before I put more fuel in the tank. The pump is blowing air through the fill nozzle, so the pump is working. It's just not primed.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

I would say if the nozzle is blowing air then the pump is sucking air and the pump is working. I think f1100turbo is on the right track. Before thinking anything is wrong, add another 5 gallons of gas.

OK, thanks for your input. I'll try another five gallons and let everyone knows if it works.

The tank holds 30 gallons of fuel. I sure hope I don't need to keep 10 gallons in the tank just to get it primed!!

5 gallons may be the same as empty. Looking forward to your findings.

Well, the pump finally primed. I would say it took around 8 gallons to achieve prime. Sure glad I tried it because some really nasty gas came out of this never been used fuel station!! I pumped a gallon or so into a clear jug until it cleaned up. I sure would not want that first stuff in my Polaris RZR ATV!!
