Furnace not working (split to own thread)

Edit by site team: This post and the following replies have been moved to their own topic thread, in order to help future members with similar problems.

Y’all PLEASE HELP!! It’s freezing in here and the damn furnace is not working. I’m in San Antonio in school and all last night and this morning it was working fine. I came home tonight after school and it was freezing in here. The furnace is blowing cold air. What is going on?breaker is not tripped and the fuse is good. I read what y’all had posted and mine doesn’t have a + symbol. So I figured it was the temp up button. I pressed it and waited like 2 seconds and pressed the on/off button. Readout lit up and said furn and it had zone 1. and the furnace in the belly kicked on. It ran for about (guessing) 2 min and shut off in the belly. My owners manual says something about defrost cycle(Heat Pump models only). What is that and how do I do it. I can’t follow the instructions.

Have you checked your propane supply?

The water heater shouldn’t be on the propane should it.

I followed the instructions on zone control to set it to only one zone. The thermostat immediately did this for the two minutes and now the furnace shut off. But this is still on.

I think it should. Is your propane shut off at the tanks or regulator?

There are VERY few RV furnaces that run on electric (i.e, 110VAC), unless you've had an electric heating element added to it. ALL of them need 12VDC to run their control boards.

Water heater can run on either electric (110VAC) or propane (but propane needs 12VDC for control), but if you have shore power, you should run on electric to save your propane.

A very deep cold front passed through Texas late this afternoon and many places that never see snow are seeing it tonight. Makes me wonder if this could be another butane vs propane problem...

Under the assumption that you've somehow run out of propane AND that you've now re-filled the tank(s):

Close both LP tank valves. Re-open them VERY slowly (just a crack for say, 10 sec, then open). (If you open them quickly on a line that has run out of gas, there is a high flow valve that will close because it thinks there's a line break).

Now light your stove and make sure you've got a normal flame. This will purge the gas line of as much air as you can.

Turn your furnace OFF, then try starting it again.

For your furnace, I am sure that is propane only. The stove not being fully lit makes me think that the tank valve(s) are not open all the way or your (if you have one and I bet you do) splitter (draws from both tanks or one at a time) is not pointed where is should.

The real bummer would be that you are about out of propane...

Have you recently refilled the tanks or... How long ago?

EDIT:
I think Rockford is taking you in the right direction.
