Furnace Wiring Question

Hi - My dad has a 1998 Cardinal LC and pulled out the furnace earlier this year to have it repaired. Unfortunately, he didn't document which wire went where.

The furnace, a Suburban 35-F, has 4 wires: 2 blue for the thermostat, red for +12v and Yellow for -12v.

The trailer has the two thermostat wires (easy enough here) in the black sleeve in the picture, but also has 2 heavier gauge wire pairs. One pair is orange/white & white. The other pair is yellow/white & white. The orange/white and yellow/white wires are still twisted together from wire nuts and the two white wires have been cut.

In the picture, the trailer wiring is on the left and the furnace wiring is on the right.

Any ideas how this is supposed to go together?

Get yourself a volt meter and check which wire is hot (+) and which is ground(-). Go to the Suburban web site and download the installation and owners manuals for your particular model. Likely it has a 2 speed blower, hence the 4 wires.

Here is the solution:
Orange/white & yellow/white go to the red wire on the furnace
The two whites go to the yellow wire on the furnace
Either thermostat wire to either blue wire on the furnace.

Hello; I have a Suburban SF30-F and my wiring is the same as Uncle Paul but I have a problem with my thermostat; the red and wh that connect to the blue at the furnace seem to go to my A/C unit; the 6 wire loom from the A/C that apparently goes to the thermostat has no +. The furnace operates fine by crossing the 2 blue wires, Any ideas? ...................David...................Thermo. is a Dometic Duo-Therm
