Generator funny idle ..Stabil?

Has anyone else had any issues after using stabil in their gas cans for a few months?..I had a 5gal can I keep around the house for various gas things like my mower, mini bike, generator etc......always treat with stabil ...poured 3 gal in the Mini bike and about 1 in the genny ( I dont winterize it as it gets used even in winter to charge my r/c cars/Helis)...genny is ideling rough...so I pour a gallon of fresh in and after a few min it runs good.....gas with stabil was about 2.5 months old?...mini bike ran a lil rough too but once warmed up idle was nice?..how long can I trust gas with stabil? ?..this is first year I attempted to treat gas? SHOULD I trust stabil?...this was non ethanol gas btw...

I always use 93 in my gas cans tho?...maybe just bad gas?...or does stabil have a limit to use?

Stabil guarantees one year. I have never had any issue after using stabil.

Typically bad gas is the culprit in small motors. I have had same issues with a Honda 2000iu, I drain gas and add new and it fixes the problem. If it hasn't been done recently replace the spark plug, cheap and easy to do. I wouldn't blame the stabil. I usually run 87 octane in all my motors, some engines run rough with higher octanes unless owners manual calls for high numbers.

I used to use the stabil. Best thing I have found is not to add it and rotate fresh fuel. I keep gas in a 5gal can and if it sits more than a month or two, I pour it into one of my vehicles and buy new fuel.

I always used Stabil in our boat over the winters, and we treated as much as 300 gallons in the boat tanks. A couple of months should not have had an adverse effect on the fuel if it was treated. I had a buddy on the same dock with me, though, who would not use Stabil. He insisted that a product called Sea Foam was better long-term and cleaned injectors (or in his case, carburetors) too!

A hole blown into a piston of my 2 stroke outboard was diagnosed as a result of low octane level in older treated gas. This was a two stroke motor. I was always treating gas now I have a gallon of seafoam, and a several bottles of stabil in my garage. I'm afraid to use any of it anymore. This is two stroke issue, don't think 4 stroke are so picky. Use the gas in 30 days, keep the tank full is what my mechanic says.
