Grease those front jacks!!!!!!!!!!

Finally got around to greasing the front power jacks on our fifth. What a difference!
I "assumed" that the jack factory would have lubed them, but by the change in the sound when powering up and down, it sure doesn't seem like it.
And don't "assume" that the dealer will grease them in their PDI either, as they obviously didn't do mine. The paint still covered the ends of the grease zerks.
Now I can understand why there have been compaints about failing jacks. Without lubrication, and all of that weight on them, a dry screw isn't going to last long.

Can you describe the process for me?
Where are the grease zerts located?

Thanks,

Bill

On my camper, the grease zerks are on the front of the jack tubes, about 3 or 4 inches down from the top. Access to the top of the jacks is through the front compartment. If you don't have any zerks there, you may have a removable cap on top of the jack tubes, and one could maybe spray some lube down toward the gears and screw mechanism.

I have a feeling that the jacks are not over-lubricated at the factory, if at all. Considering all of the weight they lift, lubrication is a must.

Good luck.
