Heater question

I put the Coleman digital thermostat in our 2018 2104S last year. When I power up the trailer the heater seems to be flaky. I always light the stove to get the propane line purged but when I adjust the thermostat to a temperature that should turn the heater on nothing happens. No attempts to light no fan. After changing the fan switch and the heat/cool switch multiple times the heater will start. I am not sure what gets the heater going but it works perfectly after the initial secret start sequence. Anyone have an idea what the problem might be?

It may be the the stat has a built in delay. Place the heat cool switch in heat fan in auto and adjust the temp at least 3* above the desired temp and wait (try timing it, if its five or less may be a delay). I have the same stat but have never paid any attention to the time between adjustment and starting of the furnace.

I too replaced analog Coleman thermostat with the digital and have no issues as you describe.

Adding to what SeaDog said, I find if I only raise (or lower on cool) by just 1°, the furnace (or A/C) doesn't always kick on immediately but does come on eventually and raises the temp set point.

I'm sure the offset built into the stat causes this.
2° gets an immediate response.
