high pitch beep when charging

I have a rockwood roo with 1 slide out. didn't charge it over the winter. plugged it in about a week ago and when I went in it today it is emitting a high pitch beep that seems to be coming from the box housing the fuses, converter etc. lights come on but when I try to open the slide out all I get is a loud beep. any idea if this would signify I need a new battery or problem with the converter? help please getting ready to go away next weekend

Use a voltmeter to test the voltage at the battery with the rig plugged in. You should be getting between 13.2 and 13.6 volts and or it could go as high as 14.4 if you have a 3-stage charger.

If not, then your converter/charger isn't putting out.

Unplug your rig from shore power, test again. You should have around 12.8 to 13 volts of "surface charge" with the charger out of the picture. If significantly lower, you may have a bad battery.

if you didn't unhook the battery over the winter, the battery is probably shot.
your trailer has all kinds of parasitic drains that will run a battery down in a few days if you don't keep it hooked up to shore power or unhook the battery.
most install a battery disconnect switch.

your battery probably got drained down to the point it won't recharge anymore.

and the beep is probably from the CO2 or propane detector saying there's no battery juice.
