For all the guys with no zerks!

This thing has been bothering me! I bought new specs, (seriously) and I found on top of my towers two flat, thin, metal plates that pry off with a knife blade, switching on the light also helped. I could feel a gear in there so I packed in more grease. Not sure yet how to lube lower down, I will post what I find.

This stirred me into going out to check my landing gear. 2011 Rockwood Signature 8244S. I found a grease zerk at the top of each leg facing the front. Without this thread they would have gone forever un-greased! As for the one near the motor, the zerk is located just below it.

Herk, mine look like that but I don't have zerts just the holes are there. Did you add yours to preexisting holes or you drilled yours then put them?

What you see is how it came from the factory.

I would check to see it the holes are threaded. Bend a paperclip into a "hook" and strum it through the hole. If it vibrates it is threaded.

You can buy Zerks at any auto store and screw them in yourself if the holes are tapped.
