I learned a couple of things this weekend...

We used our Wolf Pack 19WP for the second time this weekend and I learned two important things...

1. If you want hot water, the water heater has to be on - Go figure. I completely forgot to turn it on when we got to the site on Saturday and set everything up. On Sunday morning I was sittng outside talking to some friends and I heard the shower. A couple of minutes later it stopped and another minute or so later my wife stuck her head out the door to tell me that showering in cold water was not fun

2. Having a space heater running inside and turning on a large coffee pot (60 cup percolator) outside will trip the breaker that handles every outlet in the trailer If we're going to use the space heater overnight I have to remember to run an extension cord around the trailer and plug the coffee pot directly into shore power instead of running it through the trailer outlets.

That and the severe storms rolling through during the time that we turn in our food to the judges made for a fun weekend.

atleast you forgot to turn it on - i unplugged my water and forgot to turn it off for almost an hour and realized I didnt turn the hot water heater off - luckily I had water still in the heater or I would have been replacing the element

The space heater is inside connected to the trailer outlets. The coffee pot would be outside on an extension cord. 15', 12 ga. I can see where my wording was misleading.

Typical space heater on hi heat is 1500 watts.
1500/120=12.5 amps.
You can get by with a 16 ga cord but 14 or larger is better.

One thing I have found is not all extension cords are created
equal. I have several. If I find one that gets warm on either end
I mark it and don't use it for hi load items.
If I find one that runs cool on both ends I mark that for heater use.

YMMV.

Lots of folks have discovered they can make coffee and be warm
at the same time by running a cord out the slide seal to the extra
outlet on the power post.
I added an extra breaker and dedicated floor level outlet for our space
heater.
