Insect repellant melted the floor!

We have two cabinets (one by the door and the bathroom vanity) where we have stored insect repellant that has leaked on to the floor and when I cleaned the camper at the end of the year found out that the floor has liquefied! When I wiped up the mess the flooring is gone to the plywood at those locations. It was a good thing that these were areas that are not visible. Be careful how you store insect repellant!

Absolutely! High-DEET skeeter spray is a very effective plastic and rubber solvent/plasticizer. Astronomy is a hobby of mine and before I switched to lower DEET concentrations, I was having problems with anything plastic/rubber that came in contact with treated skin.

Wow, good to know. Thanks for the info. I'm sorry it ruined your floor though.

Its been years since we have had a popup trailer and have since always had travel trailers but back then and I would suppose it still applies today that you do not want to spray your screens. They don't melt like the flooring but they do disintegrate fast.

But thanks for the warning and reminder. All sprays currently reside in the cupboard at floor level just inside the door dso I am at risk for the same issue. They come out for the winter though.
