Interesting A/C adventure

We took our 2016 Mercedes FR Sunseeker on its first long (2500 miles) voyage. It had 11K miles on it when we bought it this spring. It has been cold and no need for the A/C until we entered Walla Walla Washington at 91 degrees a few weeks ago. The cab A/C was blowing 84^ air according to our temp probe.

The search for a Mercedes dealer in our destination area showed the nearest one to be roughly a 2 day round trip and whatever time to fix this thing. So, I looked for a shop who could work on this in Kalispell Montana. After several calls we found a shop who actually has these Sprinter rigs as their own vehicles. After adding a dye to the system, they found no leaks in the A/C system and no signs that the unit had ever been charged since new.
$189 and 4 hours later, the unit was working perfectly and no troubles since. I figured the trip to a servicing dealer would cost more than this service did, not to mention the amount of time wasted.

Many thanks to North Lake Diesel Service in Kalispell
