Is white wire ground?

OK, installing a rear camera on my 2003 Sunseeker class C 3100SS and I need help. Got the panel off the rear upper cabinet and have the rear clearance light wires exposed. One white and one green. Which one is the ground wire???

I am thinking white as all the wires in the junction box are white and some other color. Any thoughts????

Since they used whatever was on the roll at the time when RV manufacturer's build campers, there is no telling what any wire does or where it goes.

However, in my 5th wheel, the guys who wired it used the white wire as a ground. The green one as power to just about anything that uses electric.

Lou is correct but you really need a meter to check for sure.
Don't assume any color means anything until you check
with a meter!!
(You can get cheap digital multi meters at Harbor Freight
and Radio Shack)

I think it"s amazing that the manufactures don't follow/have an industry standard. Green wire for power cmon??? My tt uses black for power and white for ground.

In this photo one G/Y wire goes to Left Slide Motor; another G/Y goes to Right Slide Motor; a third goes to Fresh Water Tank Heater; the fourth is power to the Concertone and ceiling lights in the L/R (I think).

Jeeze I just realized looking at the picture again it was not Green and White but Green and Yellow. The Yellow one is ground (most times).

I do have several white grounds though. See second photo.

The tt industry really needs to settle on one standard and not each have their own. It has to be pretty confusing for the repair guys. Went out and took a second look at mine and my tt has red for power (not black) and white for ground. My previous tt had black for power and white for ground.

Standard?

There is no rhyme or reason to any wiring in my camper; let alone among manufacturers. Just try to get a wiring diagram! The Dealers do not complain because every job is charged out "Troubleshooting Labor" "Parts" and "Installation Labor."
The Troubleshooting is always more than the Install. Now you know why.
