Its going to be bad....

Went to the storage lot today to evaluate my battery options. Did a quick once over and noticed my black tank valve was open. I assume my 3 year old son yanked it...he has a habit of turning every valve, button, lever that he can get his hands on.
Did not remove the cap...I am glad I caught it so I can prepare....knowing me I will completely forget and soak a pair of shoes.

I've been there, too. Little fingers get into everything. A bucket, gloves and shoes you don't care about should do the trick for you. Good luck.

I installed one of these Twist-on Valve - Valterra T58 - Sewer Fittings - Camping World for that very reason. It's a 3rd valve and it will really limit any "accidents" if any of the other valves have been messed with.

Good call. Lots of forethought with that.

de-winterized today and figured I'd dump the gray tank in the yard before leaving in the morning - no need to haul those gallons with us and have to blu-boy them at the CG.

I removed the outer cap and got a nice pint or so of brown liquid splashing out. Yuk. Not sure the source - nothing's metal so can't be rust. Tanks all drained and flushed last fall and been parked since. Valves closed.

Oh well!

What do you think of something like this: Termination Cap with Hose Connector - Valterra T1020-1 - Sewer Fittings - Camping World with a Amazon.com: Gilmour Brass Garden Hose Connector With Shut-Off Valve 03V: Patio, Lawn & Garden on the hose threads for storage, just in case, so you can drain some out in a more controlled fashion before unleashing the mess...

Would save you from opening the whole thing without warning.

One of my grandkids, God Bless 'em, ran the driver's seat all the way back, and I almost had a tragedy when I pulled in the main slide.

Luckily it sounded 'strained' when it got to the seat and started trying to destroy it, and I caught it.

When four-year-olds run loose, you gotta check everything!!!!
