Mine are up right now but when ever I start to prep for a trip or what not I put them down to keep the bounce to a minimal.

Mine is a unique situation, but we had a recent earthquake in CA that bounced my trailer about 6 feet right out of the tire chocks. If my stabilizing jacks had been down, I am sure they would be toast.

I guess if I had that risk I would leave them up. But mine are down.

The only time our jacks/slides are NOT down/out is when we're on the road. Sits on concrete drive @ home.

When in the driveway for the season, the TT is always leveled, chocked, and stabilized. Slides only out when needed. We keep it ready to roll with zero notice so the fridge is always on. Stored for the winter months, covered and no stabs.

Us also

I also think it's better for the tires, having the load off them while resting.

This can work both ways - if you get a flat tire the stabilizers can be damaged. Many say never use the stabilizers to provide lift to the trailer, only use to stabilize.
