Ladder addition

I am getting a 2011 Rockwood 2604 next week(hopefully), and the unit does not come with a ladder.

I asked the dealer and was told that they cannot add a ladder safely since it did not come from the factory ladder ready and therefore adding one would be a problem because there are n good suports for it .

So, is this true???

Is adding a non factory ladder a problem?????

Might be true ... This is what I have for Surveyor ...

When I was touring the factory and getting my trailer fixed in January I inquired about the ladder addition. They basically told me that the support for a ladder for my trailer was in place and that they do nothing special for the ladder, but, they see all kind of botched attempts done on units if they did not come with factory ladder. basically the message I got was, if it did not come with it, and you get it done somewhere else , be ready for leaks cracks etc.

They offered to install one on the spot but I couldn't do it at the end of a three week long trip

Congratulations on your unit and good luck with the ladder .... It would be well worth your while to get in touch with the factory and MAKE sure that there are supports for the ladder before you let anyone make holes in your brand new trailer.

I would call the factory yourself and ask. my trailer did not come with a ladder and I was able to add one, might be different for your unit but I would call. (mine was installed by the guys at the factory)

where can I find a factory number to call for Rockwood????

we to just purchased a 2604 and it came with a ladder. I would think that all the structural supports would already be in place but I also agree that I would have the factory install it in case of problems down the road

my unit is on a dealer's lot...not at the factory, so the issue is whether the dealer, or I can add it properly???
