Left Side Running and Signal Lights No Longer Working.

Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right category to be posting this under or not so please let me know if I should post it elsewhere.

We own a 2010 Rockwood Roo 23RS. When we put the trailer into storage last winter everything was working fine. When we picked up the trailer last weekend, we found that neither of the signal lights or the running light are working on the left side (driver's side) of the trailer. I think that the brake light was working though. All of the lights on the right side are working.

Could someone please tell me how to figure out what the problem is and also how to fix it?

Silly question I'm sure...

We own a 2010 Rockwood Roo 23RS. There is a light outside right by the door and another one up at the front of the trailer. Both of them worked at the beginning of last season but neither of them were working at the end of the season.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get into the casing to replace the lightbulbs to see if that is the problem or not. How do I get into them?

If it isn't just the lightbulbs (it seems weird that both would stop working at the same time), what else could it be?

Usually there are locking tabs built into the lens and you squeeze the top and bottom of the lens to release them. The contact points for the bulb may be corroded, clean them with fine sandpaper.

A long shot, but try spraying both sides of your trailer/truck plug with electronic parts cleaner.

Auto parts stores sell gel for contacts to prevent corosion. Think its like 2-3 dollars

the other thing to look for is climb under the trailer and check the wires - maybe a rat or rodent ate the wires

or check to see if you have any connections have corrosion on them

Go back, and check exactly what isn't working, and what is. Your original post you stated, "neither of the signal lights or the running light are working on the left side". The brake light, and the signal light are the same wire, bulb, and filament. Also please tell us what you are towing with. If any of the parking lights are working, there is a problem in the trailer. Usually a junction box mounted on the tongue somewhere. All the parking lights run off of one wire from the tow vehicle. If you have only one turn signal, or one brake light, could be the trailer or tow vehicle.

Dielectric grease.

I had to do this on my bulbs too. The hitch lamp is not really dust or waterproof, so it gets a beating - needs TLC to work.

I see this post got moved. Just to be clear though, the lights I was asking about in this post are not the running or signal lights and have nothing to do with the towing lights whatsoever.

The lights I was talking about here turn on from a switch inside the trailer when you are camping. The one light is up high on the trailer by the door and the other light is lower and on the front of the trailer maybe to provide light if hitching up in the dark.

I could find the tabs on the signal lights but not on the lights I was talking about in my other post. We squeezed everywhere it doesn't seem to want to budge.

I will hitch the truck up to the trailer today and try to figure out exactly what is and is not working and report back.
