Lights do not turn on immediately...

So as of late we have noticed that turning on the lights in the living room area can be anywhere from instantaneous (which it should be) to about a 5 minute wait for the lights to finally come on.. now it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that is not normal.

everything else 12v works properly, other lights, radio, etc.

So do you guys/gals think this is a switch or possibly a battery issue? im leaning towards switch myself. Anyone else ever had this issue?

you may have a bad gfci making minimal contact . I have seen weirder things happen with a gfci . The ones in a rv are the cheapest made .

Guess I should mention it's a 12v lighting issue on traditional rv light switch that is a 3 switch bank. Inside outside and step lights in one unit w 3 switches total.

Also how does one take those apart to check in behind??

Had the same problem in my bathroom light, checked switch which was ok, then I removed light fixture from celing and found bad wire connector, easy fix.

I am with Ron here. Corroded or loose fixture or switch wiring.
Pray for loose. Corroded could mean water intrusion issues.

If you can jiggle the switch and the lights flicker and come on and off - you probably have a bad switch like you said - I vote switch

you might have to get a small screw driver behind the switch and push the top side in to pull the switch out - if I am not mistaken the switch has a raised piece on top and bottom in which it is held into place that way - if it is the same switch I have in my Mini Lite for say like the bathroom lights.

I attached a picture of a toggle switch - look at the raised pieces - those are what hold it in place
