Lippert tongue jack

Has anyone ever rotated the tongue jack head/motor 90 degrees ? The reason for asking is our rear hatch on out 07 Tahoe hits the switches on the tongue jack when opening or closing. If I can rotate the head 90 degrees I would eliminate the problem.

I don't see why you couldn't... except there's only 3 bolts so rotating 90 degrees is impossible. You'd only be able to rotate 30, or 60 degrees.

The motor and the jack itself are connected by a pinion gear. No reason why you can't loosen the head and rotate it, just be mindful of the power lead and don't wrap it around the shaft housing too tightly.

I did rotation on LIPPERT smart jack. Very easy. I love the result. Second option take the jack to welder have them plasma cut the flange off and reweld it 1/4 turn from factory. Click image for larger version
