Lost hood range flapper ?

Lost the flap, as I forgot to lock it down before leaving our campground.

It is now long gone.

Are these universal or specific to FR products?

I have a 2011 Shamrock 19.

Thanks.

Denis

I have been told that once the flapper is gone or broken, the entire vent has to be replaced as a unit. Seems strange and I don't know from personal experience, so could be completely off-base here. Will be interested in reading other responces !!

Yeah, replace the whole thing. Don't ask me how I know, but I'm double sure of it!

Thumbs down

Well that is the pits...

I'll probably get a whole new one and try to remove the flapper to install on mine - if possible.

I just went thru this on my rockwood. I was told that they are universal buy my dealer. We found out that the one on my 2008 1809 RW it was thinner than universal. They had to special order it from RW and it was a few screws and seal tape. Very easy to change.

Notice the 2 small levers on the outer edges of the bottom row of screws.

Dang, I never saw those until I just went out and looked. I am so glad that I asked the question. Now I can silence that puppy from flapping on windy nites, as well as securing it during travel.

That is 1 reason I love this forum......I am always learning.

Many Thanks, Mike

THANKS MILZAT!! My flapper departed somewhere north of Dallas last month. I did not like the look of the vent the local dealer stocks and have been thinking how to make one. I will be making one this weekend when I get the trailer ready to go the coast Monday. Thanks again.
