Maaxis vs. Marathon Tires

I need new tires this year and have it narrowed down to these 2 brands. Trolling for opinions on each.

Anything but Carlisle. I just put a set of Marathons on my Flagstaff mainly because that is what the guy carried and there are not a lot of choices around here. Interestingly, two of the four Marathons were defective and he would not mount them and had to return them.

Hokiehall, I am sorry to hear that, did you happen to notice where the tires were made?

No I did not. I left the trailer at his garage so he could put them on when he had time, plus do the annual state inspection. Since he had to re-order two more, it stayed there for most of the week. He said the two defective ones were "crooked" so he wouldn't mount them. He said he had never seen any that looked like that before.

The tires are stamped where they are made and the location is near the rim, If you get a chance check it out just for GP. I am located in Virginia at the moment and we have a set of Marathons where I am at, I will check to see where they are made.

Thanks for the advice guys. Also marathons are probably easier to get just in case something happens on the road. But still like the idea of the Maaxis with the "E" rated ST225/75R 15 tires.
