I checked the breakers, flipped them off/on and still wont work. I then reset the GFI outlets and that didnt work either...

I'm confused what else there is to try...The model number is MCD990ARS

Any help is appreciated..
I have a 2010 8314BSS and I also have to magic chef microwave. I had the same problem you did. I was using the microwave and it just shut completely down. I checked all fuses and then I called a friend who said hers did the same thing and I had probably just overheated it. Well I waited as she suggested and then it came back on and has worked fine since.

Just bought a Surveyor with a microwave in it and it seems to have the same issue. Checked the fuses and everything seems to check out. No lights on front, no light when door is open. Is there something I am overlooking?

Did it ever work?

Since its a "new to you" unit, it could be something as simple as a wall switch that switches between two "high draw" appliances.

In my Flagstaff there is a 3-way wall switch low to the floor that switches between the microwave and the "fireplace" heater (and off). That keeps the total amp draw to 30 amps. In order to provide enough power for both at the same time would require a 50 amp service.

I figured out my issue. Turns out the cord located behind the concert one system had come loose. Just took out the system and plugged it back in. Tada, the microwave is working again!

Smile Gratz

It is always very satisfying when you can solve those pesky problems yourself.

Microwave: Magic Chef MCD990ARB

Our 2010 Surveyor has a Magic Chef microwave. We rarely use since we dry camp. Last month, I used it during a full-hookup outing. The microwave began growling and smelling like rubber. Then it just quit. I tried to take the screws out of the front plate to check the unit, but the screws just spinned and would not come out. What next????? What is wrong with the oven???

Before you go to all that trouble. please remember to check for 120VAC at the plug where the microwave is plugged in. A simple drop light will do the trick in about 30 seconds. IF you have power at the receptacle then it is a microwave issue.
