Manual Entry Steps

Why does the rv outside trim move when stepping on manual entry door steps? It looks like the steps are mounted only to the edge flooring and not the frame. When I step on the first step you can see the outer trim\molding slide down.

They might be mounted to both and its the step frame flexing. There is a device called a step brace that is adjustable and goes under the first step that lessens the flexing especially with heavy folks.
