Manual slide operation (picture inside)

Hi I purchased a 2009 Forest River 30QBSS and it did not have an owners manual. I'm mechanically inclined and as with most stuff I own I like to look around and try to get an idea of how things operate mechanically. Crawling around under this travel trailer I see this on the slideout motor.

I'm wondering if this is where you would mechanically operate the slideout in the case of motor failure?

You are correct. You have an electric/mechanical slide, (not hydraulic), and you would hook something there, hopefully electric drill, and move the slide. Only takes about 10,000 revolutions. No, I have never counted, but the last one I did, took over 2 minutes with an electric drill.

I'm thinking if you pull that pin and remove the cap, you could use the hand crank that has a slot in the end of it. My camper came with one. An electric drill is much easier and probably faster but FYI on the crank.

The same crank used for the jacks will work on the slide. It is 3/4 in. I have tried pulling mine in with a socket wrench. I took about 3 mins. to pull the slide in.

That fitting is nowhere near the 3/4 that the stabilizers use. It says on the motor the turn ratio is 18:1 so 10K turns sounds legit lol. Ill have to pull the pin and remove the end pice to see what's behind it. I was thinking it may be removable to be replacable incase somebody strips the hex. Then it would be easily repaired/replaced instead of the whole motor but who knows.
