Marker lights keep blowing fuse

My marker lights keep blowing the 20 amp fuse towing with my new to me 2007 f250 6.0. Same problem with my old 2004, so FR was wrong it is not my truck, any ideas?

Is it the marker lights on the truck or FW that go out? Place a fuse directly into the trailer plug, it may help in determining which area the problems in. If the lights on the FW stay on and doesn't take out that fuse the issue is the truck.

They make re-setable blade fuses.......school buses use 'em......like a mini gfi

Your a Hard man to Find! Yes get a resetable breaker or you will Never keep up changing fuses while trying to locate your short! I would start by checking ALL the places You and Your Little Buddy (Drilled/Changed/Installed all your Mods)! You Only have until March to find the short! Youroo!!

Good chance a screw punctured a wire. You will have to trace wires and check each light. Dealer may have a pulser box to find the short.

Glenn bought a new truck and still has the same problem. I guess that clears Ford and the truck aspect of the issue.

They stuffed insulation in your cap because it was caving in correct? Wondering if they shorted a connection there.

First place I'd look would be the trailer pig-tail plug, then work into trailer from there.

I told Glenn to check his rear clearance lights across the top of his Fifth Wheel in the rear for water. I had the same problem, discovered the rear top clearance lights were full of water.

Drilled a small hole in the bottom of the red lens to let the water drain out. Also caulked the top of the red lens to keep the water out.

Don't point fingers at me, I never drilled any holes except for the awning poles. Screws for his basement slide out were not long enough to go thru the 1/2" plywood floor. He's pulled that trailer 1000's of miles and now all of a sudden it's blowing fuses? Sounds more like a truck problem. Plug a 20 amp fuse into the trailer umbilical cord to terminals 3 & 4 (the ones on each side of the tang) and if it blows, it's the trailer wiring, if it doesn't blow, it's the Found On Road Dead.

Putting a fuse in the 7 pin will test it at static but you said while towing. I would have another vehicle with communications to you and pull the camper around CG or private road or parking lot. They might see a light flicker before blowing fuse. Saying the 5th might be in a flex position and pinch a wire. Start looking at the simplest things and then in deeper.

Another simple test especially for boat trailer. Plug in and hit the brake and turn signals. Have had a bad housing before.

Brian, I have had this problem from day one, FR threw there hands up said they would have to remove my whole roof. They can't find it because it will only blow when driving, might be 2 miles or could be 50 miles before it blows. It is not the truck I can rule that out. I'll start with the plug and work backwards. I will keep folks informed on my progress, but got to fix that water pump first. Todays project. Maybe I need a New Wild Cat....

Glenn just be glad it is NOT your (Brake/Tail lights),that will put you OUT of RVing! Had that happen in VT/NH area. We were (Holed Up) until a SUPER mobile Teck found the Wires that (Only While Moving) would blow the Truck Fuse! It was a stroke of Luck that the Mobile Teck had worked for KZ and he knew right where to look inside the Nose area for the Wires that would rub and short out (1 mile or 50 miles)! I feal your Pain! Youroo!!

Thanks Youroo, I don't drive at night, by then I'm to DRUNK, but when it rains they say your head lights have to on during the day. I don't know if they can pull me over for markers not being lit. Got the water pump working again. Took it apart and cleaned everything. s
Still finding cons't crap in the filter. Well it's 1:00 PM here and 85 degrees. Wind blowing a good 20 and gust to at least 30 mph. When the wind blows I have to thank Turbs.The trailer is rocking and rolling and it not what you think. But I'm the only one in the whole CG flying Old Glory, and my US ARMY FLAG, plus my FROG Flag. I'm in another world down here.. ..... Very strange CG but it has a bar (Tiki Hut) I'll post pictures. It's right behind my spot, I can crawl home.
